Who's thinking of Christmas already?

Are you one of those people who have half (if not all) of your Christmas shopping done already? If so, let me just say that I am so VERY jealous! I always plan to get a jump on the holidays and actually have a peaceful Christmas where I'm NOT scrambling at the last minute to find the "perfect" gift for the most-hard-to-buy-for person (people) on my list. (It always seems that there's a few people that I find scads of stuff for and then there's those hateful few that I can't stand shopping for because nothing is "just right.")

Well, MrsDragonsWares has gotten a jump on the holidays and has provided a few links to some people who are helping us out with some really great Christmas cards. At first I was just amazed - Christmas cards already? But then I thought about it - why not? How long does it take each year to address and write a nice, personal note in all those cards? Why not save myself a headache and get a jump on it now? Who's going to know that I wrote their "I'm thinking of you... hope you have a great holiday... thanks for being such a wonderful friend/sister/etc" in August or September instead of carving out a few precious hours or days from December? Besides, it may be the only way I'll get them done this year - considering I'm due at the end of the year and my first baby was 3 weeks early, that puts this one as possibly making it's debut shortly before Christmas!

Here's just one of many card designs by Jellybeans

She's got four different artists showcased with links to purchase their cards on her blog. Ideally, I'd LOVE to make my own cards - I've even got all the supplies to do so, just not the time. I really like the designs of the artist at Jellybeans, and the simple designs of Atelierdesigns are really great also. If you're in any way in the same boat as I am, maybe Christmas cards in August isn't such a crazy idea. Even if you don't order them online, maybe just making your list and getting the addresses ready would help you during the holiday season. Whatever you do, don't let it sneak up on you! The holidays should be a time we enjoy, not a time to stress and dread!

Happy holidays!
