According to Visa Canada yesterday was the biggest shopping day of the year, with estimated spending falling at just under 2 billion dollars. That's roughly 10 per cent of the total earmarked for Christmas gifts here in Canada. Wow, we Canadians must be a generous bunch!! I can only imagine what our holiday-loving pals from the south spend during this fun & festive time! If you're trying to stretch your shopping budget a wee bit you may want to head down to the stores this evening. Many retailers are starting to mark down select holiday items and most are offering extended pre-Christmas hours! All across the country stores like Indigo, Chapters and Best Buy are keeping doors open until 11:00 pm. So if you feel like braving the crowds you may be able to sneak in and snag some last minute goodies! Boxing day is coming up quickly though so you may want to save a bit of cash for the upcoming super-sales! Either way...happy shopping!
