What happened on your birthday?

How cool is this? Okay, I'm not a big history buff, or I didn't used to be. I'm finding that as I get older things are more interesting to me than they were in school when I was actually learning about this kind of stuff... I was looking at the History.com website, and they've got a section called "Today" that features things that happened on the current date of history throughout the years. They have a cover story that features a short video, and then other headings you can check out for other happenings the same date, just different years.

You can enter any date you want, and since my birthday is coming up, I just thought I'd see what happened on my birthday date throughout history. My "cover story" was Billy the Kid Arrested for the First Time. (Funny thing about it is that as famous as Billy the Kid is for being charged with 21 murders, his first arrest was for stealing laundry...) Along with the main cover story, there are 15 other headings I could check under to see what happened on the date of my birthday throughout the years - including subjects such as crime, disaster, entertainment, presidential, sports, and Wall Street, just to name a few.

Kind of neat to see what else was going on or has happened on the date we celebrate our own personal holidays. Check it out - who knows what famous happening happened on your special day?
