What did we do for Father's Day?

I know the holiday is over, but it took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to do for my husband and father, so I'm just now catching up. To be completely honest, I haven't actually finished either gift, so I guess this post is right on time!

June%2007%20012.jpg I wanted to do something great for my husband since this is our first year as parents. He's so hard to buy for since he's so into electronics. Everything he wants he either buys for himself or it's way, way expensive. I wanted to do something sweet and sentiments, but nothing he would think was too sappy. I'm afraid that my gift may still be a little on the sappy side, but I think he'll like it. I had thought about getting him one of those "I love my dad" t-shirts that you see sold everywhere, but that didn't work out, so I decided to do my own. And what better than to personalize it? I ended up getting some fabric paint and a fabric marker. My little 5 month old helped, although he probably doesn't realize it... I painted the bottom of his foot and stamped it on the shirt. Underneath the footprints I wrote "I'm somebody's hero."

June%2007%20013.jpg I haven't actually given him the shirt yet, but I'm pretty sure he'll like it! To go with it, I also stamped one footprint on a onesie and wrote "Following in my dad's footsteps" under it for our little boy to wear! I know, I know, really sappy, but like I said, it's cute so I think he'll like it.

As for my dad, I got together with my sister and have planned to get a photo done for him. She has two boys of her own, and my dad has recently started saying that he wants a picture of all of his boys together. What better gift?! Of course, now we actually have to get them all together when they're in a good mood... so that may not be the easiest thing to do, but we'll get it eventually! Better late than never I guess.
