Unique New Year's Resolutions; Part 1

As Margalit so thoughtfully pointed out in her "Next" post, New Year's resolutions are just another way for us to torture ourselves after we quickly fail at the inevitable. I mean losing 10 lbs, cutting out soda-pop or not using your credit card anymore...who really does this? Of course if you have then more power to you, but what I'd like to focus on this month is making some unique and even fun New Year's resolutions. Let's start with one of my favorites; clean up your space by donating one used item to charity every month! Most of us can locate at least 12 items we consider of little value in our homes. Think; clothing, dishes, small kitchen appliances, shoes, blankets, books, etc. Each month, on the first day, gather one unused item and make a trip to a local charitable organization for donation. After a few months you're going to love that clean new feeling and I bet you'll feel great with the knowledge that someone else is making good use of out of the items that were cluttering up your life! So is this easier and more fun than losing 10 pounds? I guarantee it! Stay tuned as I've got 9 more fresh and fabulous ideas to come over the month of January! Happy 2007, Canada!
