Tips for keeping your cool while braving the crowd!

If you're like me and you still have quite a bit of holiday shopping left to do these relaxing tips for shopping at "the mall" should really come in handy:

1. Bring a list! I know this seems like a no-brainer but you'd be surprised at how many people just head to the mall and think "I'll find something". Even if you're don't know what you're going to get for everyone make sure that you write down the names of each gift recipient and an idea or a store that you might like to check out. This way you won't forget anyone and you've at least got some direction. Being well prepared should save you at least an hour or two of aimless wandering and I think this time of the year we can all use a few extra hours!

2. Carry around a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated. I know that shopping isn't quite like climbing a mountain but believe me fighting off the crowds at your local mall can be just as dehydrating! Keep your cool with a frosty drink!

3. Don't try to carry a ridiculous number of bags around. After collecting three or so bags, take them to your car. This way you can shop in comfort and you'll have less of a chance of losing your purchases to criminals.

4. Shop with a buddy (one with great taste if possible)! They say that two heads are better than one and this is definitely the case while holiday shopping! Your pal can lighten your load while helping you choose just the right scarf for your Mother-in-Law!

5. Take a break! While many of us are tempted to just "get er done" taking a little coffee/soda break is a great way to collect your thoughts and read over your list (you did read tip number one right?). Chill out and think about how you'll get all of your Christmas shopping done in September next year...(yeah right and you've got Easter all sewn up as well I'm sure)!
