The Olympics are almost done with, they'll officially finish up this weekend, but it's been a pretty big event this year. What a neat way to follow them than with the whole family. Maybe next time they come around - in 2012, isn't it - my son will be interested in watching them. I really thought Showered with Grace had a neat way of getting the whole family involved.
Not only did they watch the Olympics together, but she used the opportunity to teach her kids about China - who's hosting the games this year. One night they ordered Chinese take-out and let the kids eat with chopsticks, and she also taught them about money exchange, the history of the Olympics, and ancient Chinese clothing. Even took an online tour of China. Now that's a dedicated mom! (How many opportunities have I missed to use something out of every-day life as a learning opportunity?)
Congrats to this mom for a job well done! I'm very impressed!
