Whether you want your home organized enough that you can invite someone over on a whim, or your office organized enough that you can find the stapler when you need it, these tips should get you started on the way to a more organized 2007!
1. Get a "planner" and use it! Organizedhome.com is an incredible resource for printable planning pages that fit perfectly into any standard sized binder. I like the "binder" size as I find those little tiny daytimer books can be a pain to fit everything in, and since these pages are free there's no excuse not to get your life in order! This site also offers planning pages for families, cooking/kitchen and weddings as well so be sure to make this your first stop on the road to a perfectly planned 2007!
2. Get rid of excess paper and junk mail! Don't carry your mail over to your desk or table where it's bound to pile up and take hours to go through later. Open it at the counter and separate it into three piles; one for bills and mail to keep, one for junk mail and one for mail that needs to be shredded. After the mail is sorted shred the sensitive papers, recycle the garbage and put the bills away. A quick tip for organizing bills is to have a manilla envelope for each month. That way you can go over your bills at any time and you'll be better prepared for the upcoming tax season (everyone's favorite time of the year, I'm sure)! I also like to use manilla envelopes for receipts and warranty cards along with credit card bills. Having receipts well organized and accessible comes in really handy around the holidays as well just incase Dad's new slippers just happen to be 2 sizes too small :)
3. Dump the junk! Items that are outdated, faded, broken or otherwise unusable should be tossed or recycled. If you don't want it, and you don't know anyone else who wants it, send it on its way. A clean and clutter free home or office is one of the simplest ways to a happy and healthier you!
