Need a Blessing for your Thanksgiving Get Together?

Thanksgiving is a great time to remember what you are thankful for in your life. Whether you make this observation internally or externally is completely up to you.

It's nice to say a few words before a special family meal. By doing so you acknowledge the gathering and attempt to bring a connection to all that are seated around the table.

A favourite Irish blessing that we use occasionally in my house, and that my girls will grow up being able to bring to a holiday table, is simple and thoughtful. And that's all you're aiming for.

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

The sun shine warm upon your face,

The rain fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you gently

In the hollow of his hand.
