My Mother's Day

My Mother's Day gift came a little early this year. Typically I'm one to drag out gifts as long as possible, but considering my gift was edible, there wasn't much "dragging out" I could do!

This year is a first for me in many ways. First of all, it's my first year to celebrate Mother's Day. That alone is pretty significant! Of course this also makes me realize that it's the first year for us to celebrate Father's Day, which is coming up soon, so I need to start thinking of what to plan for my husband...

Anyway, back to my gift... My husband (and little boy) surprised me with a gift from Edible Arrangements. I have seen similar gifts on TV and didn't know we had recently gotten a shop in town. Apparently they provide different arrangements of fruit - some dipped in chocolate, some just cut and put together like floral arrangements. They've got a really unique gift selection. What a nice surprise! They gave me a box of white and regular chocolate dipped strawberries. Yum! The only problem is that they just don't last...

Also, this year we will also be participating in the child dedication at church in honor of Mother's Day. To me, that's a pretty neat way to celebrate the holiday. We're going to participate in the Saturday night service so that my family can attend. I'm excited to be a part of it and think it's a really great idea to do this over Mother's Day weekend.
