Let's all have the time of our lives...

Okay, so this technically isn't a "holiday," but it is a pretty nifty anniversary, so I wanted to go ahead and mention it! This marks the 20th year of the release of the movie Dirty Dancing. The hot movie, staring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, originally came out in 1987 - back when I was "too young" to see such a movie. Believe it or not, I actually listened to my parents and never did see it, even though it was all the rage and all my girlfriends had seen it and talked about it constantly... It wasn't until I had been married for several months that I finally sat down to watch it with my husband. I have to say, I don't know that I would have been able to fully appreciate it as a young teenager (I have to say I was rather sheltered), but I'm SO glad I finally did get the chance to see it!

What a good movie! Definately one that I enjoyed watching with my significant other, and I can completely understand why it was such a hit, and still is for that matter. Even as dated as it is, it's still a great movie. And, to celebrate such a great movie, it's returning to theatres for two nights only, May 1st and 2nd, and is supposed to also include some "exclusive never-before-seen footage and interviews with cast members and filmmakers," so don't miss out! Take your sweetie out and have the time of your life and catch the classic on the big screen!
