Last holidays in May

Please forgive me for missing the last two days of May! We left off on the 29th with no holiday to celebrate, but I let the 30th and 31st pass me by. In my defense, our family had a rather exciting weekend, but that's another story for another day...

May 30th we celebrated Water a Flower Day - which is something I apparently never celebrate! I tend to let mother nature take care of that for me (and I make sure I buy hardy flowers!)

May 31st celebrated several holidays. National Macaroon Day, Save Your Hearing Day, and World No Tobacco Day were all the 31st. While I can't get too excited about macaroons - I prefer chocolate chip! - I can get excited about the other two holidays. I'm all about protecting your hearing, maybe because several people in my family have some kind of hearing problem or another. Too bad you can't convince the people in the cars around you, with whom you don't want to share their music, that it really IS bad for their ears and actually have them care! Or how about the people who wear earphones, but the music is still loud enough for you to sing along? Oh well...

Also, the No Tobacco Day, well, you don't have to guess which side of the fence I'm on for that one either! But, considering several people in my family have died or suffered from cancer, as well as numerous others have struggled to overcome their nicotine addiction, you can surely understand why I'm so against tobacco! Not to mention the studies that continue to come out about how bad secondhand smoke is for people, especially the little people around us that look up so adoringly to those who may be smoking around them. But I digress...

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed every minute of your garden, cookies, loud music and other noises, and that no one badgered you too much if you are a smoker!
