June's second week of holidays

This second week of June we've got a limited number of things to celebrate. While some days have multiple "holidays" per day, this week only Friday -the 13th!!! - has two holidays, or 3 if you count Friday the 13th as a holiday. But, considering Father's Day is coming up fast and furious, we've got plenty to do to prepare for that celebration!

Here's a quick run-down of what we can celebrate this week:

June 9: Donald Duck Day

June 10: Iced Tea Day

June 11: Hug Holiday

June 12: Red Rose Day

June 13: Blame Someone Else Day - first Friday the 13th of the year.
Sewing Machine Day

Happy Birthday to Donald, would you believe he's over 70! He first appeared in 1934. Poor guy, when part of your theme song is "who's never wrong, but always right, who'd never dream of starting a fight, who gets stuck with all the bad luck, no one, but Donald Duck!" you know you're in for trouble!

With summer in full swing (and I don't care if the calendar says it's not TECHNICALLY summer yet-it's too darn hot to say it's still spring!), celebrating iced tea is something that's pretty easy!

Most people enjoy hugs, so this holiday is one that's pretty easy to celebrate also. Just beware those who have a very sensitive "personal space bubble!" Intrude only at your own risk!

Red Rose Day - I read this wrong the first few times. I kept thinking of Stephen King's novel about Rose Red! I kept wondering what kind of holiday that was all about... But I'd much rather celebrate red roses! I'll have to pass this holiday info along to my husband!

Friday the 13th, well, there's not too much that needs to be said about the supersitions surrounding this day! But the other two holidays of blaming someone else, well, I can't say I'm all about that holiday. And, considering you may not be the only one deciding to practice this holiday's theme, beware lest you be blamed!

Oh, and how do you celebrate sewing machines? Ideas anyone?
