Easter has come and gone in a blur, it almost seems like we were cheated it went so fast. I had every intention of posting on the holiday several times - there is so much to do and celebrate - but it was gone before I knew it. Maybe it seemed to go so fast because we've been battling a case of croup and several colds at our house... whatever the reason, it was a nice holiday even if it did go too fast and come with a little bit of sickness on our part. Fortunately, the colds and croup didn't hit until Easter night. How's that for timing?
Knowing that my parent's church was hosting an egg hunt for the kids during their 11:00 AM service, we planned to take our kids to our church's 6:00 PM Saturday service. This was a nice turn of events because it allowed us to dress everyone up not just once but twice. I know that most people would think I'm nuts to say that it was fun to get a toddler, an infant, and two adults all dressed up, but we don't do it often, so it was fun for us. And my son is still at an age where he really doesn't care too much what he wears, so I could put him in an outfit my grandmother got for him for Christmas that I was wondering when he'd ever get a chance to wear. Then on Sunday I got to dress him up in the "dressy-casual" outfit I bought him.
I also had an outfit dilema of sorts for my daughter. In a recent conversation with my mother-in-law I found out that she had wanted to buy her an Easter outfit but didn't because she thought I already had one. (She was there for a visit when a girlfriend dropped off a baby gift that was a cute little outfit that she in turn assumed I'd use for Easter.) So, since that was what she had thought she was wearing, I was able to put her in that for Saturday night and then on Sunday, I used a different dress that I had been planning to put her in all along. Problem solved! And she was so adorable in both of them!
Even my sister's kids got into the spirit of things and they were adorable on Sunday in their dressy clothes. True to form, the oldest had a little suit vest with dinasours on it. Too funny and too cute!
