How does your garden grow?

In an effort to "transform America into a greener, more livable place, where the act of nurturing plants can influence education, health and nutrition, community, and local food sources," we recognize April as National Garden Month. Going hand-in-hand with the recent Earth Day, as you can imagine, National Garden month encourages people to get outdoors and create a personal haven, whether it's by growing flowers, vegetables, attracting birds and other critters, or some other outdoor pasttime.

In order to help us celebrate, New York is hosting their 5th annual NYC GROWS Garden Festival, in Union Square Park this coming Saturday, the 28th. There will be how-to demonstrations, food, related exhibit booths, a prize drawing and more. There's also going to be a garden labyrinth and your kids can meet Ranger Rick. Sounds like fun! (Wish I could attend... I've always wanted a garden!)
