We all know that Valentine’s Day is a time to show your loved ones that you care, but did you know that you can show that you care by giving gifts that are traditional and healthy? According to an article at Life.ca, this year, you should really consider giving dark chocolate in place of the traditional box of “plain” chocolates. Recently very publicized for its health benefits with its hearty dose of anti-oxidants, dark chocolate has been proven to have an effect similar to aspirin when it comes to preventing heart attacks. So, say I love you with a healthy benefit!
Also to consider when you’re picking up the faithful gift of flowers is to make sure you’re not getting a hearty dose of poisonous chemicals on those beautiful buds. Considering that the floral industry is heavy-handed on their use of pesticides and other chemicals, be picky about where you get your flowers. Make sure that your floral gifts is certified with the Veriflora l abel which will certify that the flowers are pesticide-free, as well as the added benefit of knowing that the workers have received fair treatment.
So put a little thought into your gift choices this year and say I love you not just through your gift, but through the silent words behind it as well!
