Happy Columbus Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed today's holiday - Columbus Day! Some people had off to celebrate, most of us didn't. However you spent your day, we should all celebrate because today honors the day that Columbus "discovered" the New World and discounted thoughts that the world was flat! Although technically he landed and "discovered" an island in the Caribbean, he's known for discovering America. While that's not completely accurate - considering the Native Americans were already here and apparently there had been previous expeditions to America by Nordic explorers who had traveled down the coast of Canada years before, the point is that he got here and started the influx of Europeans to the New World.

So, dust off your elementary school rhymes and remember to celebrate today! "In fourteen hundred and ninety-two, Columbus sailed the Ocean blue..."
