Good, down-home cookin'

peach%20cobbler.jpg This Friday, April 13th (yikes, that's a Friday the 13th!) is National Peach Cobbler Day! I'm a sucker for good food, and "down-home, southern" food is one of my biggest temptations! There's just something about comfort food...

When I was in college, they would occasionally offer different cobblers on the cafeteria line. Believe it or not, they were usually pretty good for cafeteria food. So good actually, that I got the recipe from one of the ladies there. Although I don't remember now what it was (something along the lines of canned fruit with a yellow cake mix and butter on top baked for a specific ammount of time) I did make it a few times and it was a big hit with my family.

I wanted to provide you a link to an awesome recipe so you could make your own and celebrate this neat holiday, but there are SO many different recipes out there, I'll just let you find your own. Or maybe you have an old family recipe. After all, that's what southern cooking is about, right? Family recipes and traditions handed down over the years? If you have a great recipe - let me know so I can try it out myself!
