Funny coincidence

It's funny how things overlap sometimes. I'll never forget the 4th of July of 2006 - and neither will the rest of my family. That's the day my nephew Keith was born!

He wasn't expected for another week or so, but he decided he was ready a little early. My sister was at home with her 2-year-old son and a family friend. She called me to tell me what was going on and it was just hours later that she was at the hospital. It was an extremely exciting day for her - she ended up having to have an emergency C-section, but everything turned out well.

The neat thing about it is that my nephew gets to have fireworks on his birthday every year. What a neat way to celebrate! Someone got him a little outfit that said "Daddy's little firecracker." How true!

Also, something I'm looking forward to this year is our local newspaper ran an ad a few weeks back asking if anyone had their birthday on the 4th of July. My sister responded and they said they wanted to feature a few people who shared their birthday with the nation. She gave them a little write-up about Keith's birthday and sent in a photo, so he should be in the paper this year.

I can't imagine a more exciting way to spend the 4th of July - even if she was under anesthetic for part of the time!
