Black History Month is celebrated in various countries at different times of the year. In the USA, February is the month designated as Black History Month. In schools across the USA, children learn about Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, the battle for Civil Rights and the resulting Civil Rights acts, and about the roots of Black America; the slave trade. But often there aren't crafts projects for young children to make at home with their parents in honor of Black History Month.

My kids made this Unity Wreath a number of years ago, and we still hang it on our door during February as a reminder to all our visitors that not only is this Black History Month, but that unity amongst all of the peoples of the world is important to us. Here's how to make this wreath.
